Gendarmenmarkt · 23 November to 31 December 2026
Above the Christmas market:
talk to the golden figure on the dome.
From 23 November to 31 December 2026 the Christmas market stands on Gendarmenmarkt — between the French Cathedral, the German Cathedral and the Konzerthaus, on the square many call Berlin's most beautiful.
High above the stalls, on the dome of the French Cathedral, stands the golden figure Berliners have called Nike for generations. On BerliNike.Art she answers you: with her own voice, her own character and documented history. Down on the square Schiller stands in front of the Konzerthaus — he talks with you too. A conversation above the market's glow, on site or from home.
BerliNike.Art is an independent offer, separate from the Christmas market's organiser. Tickets, programme and all news are on weihnachtsmarkt-berlin.de.

How is BerliNike.Art connected to the market?
BerliNike.Art is an independent project, separate from the organiser. The figures stand on the square: the golden figure on the dome of the French Cathedral and Schiller in front of the Konzerthaus. On BerliNike.Art you talk with them — on your phone in the middle of the market, or from anywhere.
Who stands on the dome of the French Cathedral?
A gilded figure Berliners have called Nike for generations. The Berlin monument authority describes her as an allegory of Religion, holding a palm frond. On BerliNike.Art she speaks as BerliNike — and tells you what she sees above the square.
Do I need an app?
No. BerliNike.Art runs in your phone's browser, without an app and without an account, in ten languages.
How much does a conversation cost?
Your first conversation with the golden Nike is free for 1:11 minutes. After that, speaking time starts at €1.11.
Are the stories real?
Each figure speaks on the basis of verified, documented facts about its monument. Where the records end, it says so openly. The figures are AI interpretations and speak as figures, never as the people themselves.
Speaking time
Keep talking — with one voice, four, or all of them.
Your time is added ON TOP: the conversation continues, with everything you already talked about. Plus a drink as your welcome gift for this one figure — her opening words pick up on your choice.
