Historical Lights:
Be enlightened by Berlin's great figures.
From 9 to 18 October 2026 the Festival of Lights Berlin turns the city into a stage for light art — under the motto “Colours of Love”, with 3D video mappings at the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column, a façade show at the Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt and installations in the Nikolaiviertel.
Right there stand Berlin's monuments — and they answer. Victoria on the Brandenburg Gate, Goldelse on the Victory Column, Schiller at Gendarmenmarkt and the dragon slayer George in the Nikolaiviertel hold real conversations on BerliNike.Art: with their own voice, their own character and documented history. Light art by night, a conversation at the monument that enlightens.
Historical Lights is an independent offer by BerliNike.Art, separate from the festival's organiser. The official programme with all locations is on festival-of-lights.de.

When is the Festival of Lights Berlin 2026?
From 9 to 18 October 2026 — the 22nd edition, under the motto “Colours of Love”. The official programme with all locations is on festival-of-lights.de.
What is Historical Lights?
Historical Lights is BerliNike.Art's offer for these days: you walk from light installation to light installation and talk to Victoria, Goldelse, Schiller and George at the monuments. It is an independent project, separate from the festival's organiser.
Where can I talk to the monuments?
At the Brandenburg Gate (Victoria), at the Victory Column (Goldelse), at Gendarmenmarkt (Schiller and the golden Nike on the French Cathedral), in the Nikolaiviertel (Saint George) and at the Neptune Fountain (Neptune). According to its programme, the festival's light shows run at the Brandenburg Gate, the Victory Column, the Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt and in the Nikolaiviertel.
Do I need an app?
No. BerliNike.Art runs in your phone's browser, without an app and without an account, in ten languages.
How much does a conversation cost?
Your first conversation with the golden Nike is free for 1:11 minutes. After that, speaking time starts at €1.11.
Are the stories real?
Each figure speaks on the basis of verified, documented facts about its monument. Where the records end, it says so instead of inventing. The figures are AI interpretations and never pose as the people themselves.
Can I take part from home?
Yes. The walk through Berlin-Mitte also runs virtually, without location — the monuments answer from anywhere.
